Saharawi Voice is a media activist group, working to document and spread information about the people and situation in the Sahrawi refugee camps in Algeria, where people have lived since 1975.
Their aim is to raise awareness of the situation in the camps and to humanise the image of the refugees living there. Through film and photography, they disseminate information about international law, the occupation and the lives of the Sahrawi people. Haiyu, their feature film about Sahrawi singer Mariem Hassan, had an international première in 2024. Saharawi Voice also focuses on situational monitoring, and corrects what is often misinformation about Western Sahara in the international media.
