Björkåfrihet is an organisation with more than 50 years experience of second hand and solidarity work. Through international solidarity and advocacy work we support organisations working against occupation. In Sweden, we support the asylum rights movement and organisations working with undocumented refugees.

We have five second hand shops and together with municipalities in the Southwest of Sweden we run additional 17 smaller second hand shops.

Björkåfrihet has around 150 employees. We have collective agreement with the unions Handelsanställdas förbund and Unionen. We have a so-called ”90-account” meaning that we are controlled by Svensk Insamlingskontroll. In 2019 Björkåfrihet became the world’s first non-profit second hand organisation with quality and environment management systems according to ISO9001/14001.
