Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees (UPWC) is a feminist movement fighting for a society free from all discrimination. They mobilise Palestinian women to demand their political, social and economic rights, and to carry out advocacy work. If you ask UPWC why they organise women, their answer is: ”The fight against occupation cannot be effective if half the population is excluded.”
UPWC has its main office in Ramallah, West Bank, but also has local offices throughout the West Bank and Gaza (pre November 2023).
In the film Palestinian women make change UPWC talks about their work.
