The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) was founded in 1995 in Gaza by a group of Palestinian lawyers and human rights activists. They document and investigate human rights violations committed by the Israeli occupation power and provide legal aid and counselling. They also carry out legal intervention with concerned bodies and make legal representations before courts such as the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in cases that involve broad principles of human rights that affect not only the individual before the court but the community as a whole.
In addition, they conduct research and produce reports on the human rights situation and the rule of law, as well as strengthening the capacity of civil society actors and civilians in human rights and its application through the offering of training courses.
