Nuwat Social Solidarity Centre (Nuwat) operates in Palestine refugee camps in Lebanon. Nuwat is working on developing the Palestinian community by focusing on advocacy, social work, medical and educational support and assistance to marginalized groups. The organization is an active part of the Palestinian civil society implementing various activities targeting youth, women and children in particular.
The initiative supported by Björkåfrihet aims to empower youth within their community in order to increase their participation in decision-making through advocacy campaigns, workshops, courses, and other activities. Nuwat has created a network of young people and young adults which focuses on strengthening their capacity to influence their situation and demand their rights as Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. Nuwat is also working generational shift in their own organization.
